(GODERICH, ON) – An 18 year old male and a 21 year old female are each facing a drug possession charge following a traffic stop on July 16, 2014. At approximately 12:20 a.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a Pontiac Montana mini-van parked at the end of Cove Road. The officer approached the vehicle and immediately detected the odour of marihuana. In addition, the officer observed marihuana inside the vehicle.
Both occupants were placed under arrest and a search incident to arrest led to the seizure of a quantity of marihuana.
As a result, 18 year old Nicholas PELLITTERI from Bluewater and 21 year old Celtae BAXTER from Central Huron have been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act. They both have scheduled court appearances on September 8, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
