(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – On Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at approximately 12:05am, Middlesex and Elgin OPP were dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Dorchester Road near Avon Road in Elgin County.
The vehicle a Ford F-150 was southbound on Dorchester Rd when a witness saw the head lights rolling. The vehicle then went off the roadway and rolled, ejecting a 20 year old Malahide Township man and a 20 year old Aylmer man.
As a result of the investigation thus far Caleb Dekraker, 21 years old of Malahide Township is charged with:
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm X2
Driving While Ability Impaired Cause Bodily Harm X2
Young driver: B.A.C above zero
Deraker was released from custody and is to appear in St. Thomas Criminal court on the 28th of June 2016.
The Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) was called in to investigate the cause of the collision. The beginning investigation of TTCI reveals that driver speed and error may have been a contributing factor in this motor vehicle collision.
All three parties were transported to a London area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. However one was deemed to have life altering injuries.
Police have cleared the scene and there are no road closures at this time.
