On January 13th, 2015 at approximately 5:45 pm Owen Sound Police Service responded to a west side apartment in relation to a domestic disturbance. The investigation determined a female resident of the apartment had been assaulted by her common law husband.
During the investigation officers observed a number of firearms unsafely stored within the apartment. Two prohibited weapons were also observed by officers. Several firearms, ammunition and the prohibited weapons were seized by police.
A 27 year old Owen Sound man has been charged with domestic assault along with several weapons related charges. The accused will be held in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing on January 14th.
At approximately 9 pm officers were dispatched to a west side residence in response to a 911 call relating to another domestic disturbance in progress. As a result of the investigation, a 40 year old Owen Sound woman has been charged with domestic assault and held for a bail hearing on January 14th.
