(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Officers from the Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision that occurred today, Wednesday March 23, 2016 just before 6:00 p.m.. The vehicle left the roadway just east of Windsor Drive in Bala and struck a fire hydrant. Fortunately no one was injured.
Police have conducted an investigation into the collision and have charged 27 year-old Jacob HORNBY of Emsdale with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(1)(a) and Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample CC254(3). Police have also charged 24 year-old M egan HREHORUK of Emsdale with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle CC 253(1)(a), Over 80 CC 253(1)(b) and Mischief CC 430(4).
The accused parties each received an immediate 90 day driver’s license suspension and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 19, 2016 to answer to their charges.
