Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a criminal search warrant at a residence on Pioneer Line, West Elgin yesterday February 13, 2014.
The search warrant resulted in police seizing several items of stolen property, two firearms, a canister of tear gas and a small quantity of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).
As a result police have arrested and charged Francois BOIVIN, age 41 year of West Elgin. He has been charged with;
Two counts of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Meth)
Four counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance
Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon
Breach of Firearms Regulation
Theft Under $5000
BOIVIN remains in custody awaiting a show cause bail hearing to be held this date February 14, 2014.
Police also arrested and charged Taylor Lee NISBET, age 23 of West Elgin. She has been charged with;
Two counts of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crystal Meth)
NISBET was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear Undertaking. She is schedule to appear in St.Thomas criminal court March 10, 2014.
