(MATTAWA, ON) – On February 13, 2016, at approximately 3 a.m., the Mattawa Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a home invasion on Chenier Road, Papineau-Cameron Township.
Tony NOLAN, 38, and Shane HARVEY, 42, both of Mattawa have been charged with the following offences:
– Assault with A Weapon, section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
– Disguise with Intent, section 351(2) CC;
– Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence, section 348(1(b) CC
– Assault (X2), section 266 CC
Both males remain in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on February 16, 2016.
One of the accused was taken to hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries and was later released.
The OPP has notified the province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate. As a result the OPP will not be able to provide any further information. Any other inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
