Two Arrested For Break And Enter Near Durham

(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On April. 24, 2017 at approximately 2:32 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of West Grey Police Service, responded to a report of a break-in, in progress, at a residence on Southgate Sideroad 39, in the Township of Southgate, just southeast of Durham.

Upon arrival, police discovered a male suspect inside the residence.

39-year old Arthur McCLOCKLIN, of the Township of Southgate, was arrested and charged with break and enter, possession of break-in instruments, and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

A second suspect, a 17-year old male, from the Municipality of West Grey, who had fled the scene on foot, was located in the area and arrested. He was charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property under $5,000.

Both males were held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for April 25, 2017.

The stolen property, consisting of tools, clothing, small electronics, chainsaws, and two replica firearms, were recovered.
