(TOWNSHIP OF SOUTHGATE, ON) – On April 4, 2016 at approximately 7:23 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of disturbance on Main Street East, Dundalk, in the Township of Southgate.
Police arrived and found that a male and female, who were known to police and bound by a court order not to have contact with one another, had been involved in a physical altercation. The domestic-related investigation resulted in both parties being arrested and charged. Both sustained minor injuries as a result of the altercation.
The 34-year old female was charged with assault with a weapon, fail to comply with probation order (x2), and possession of marihuana under 30 grams. She was also wanted on an outstanding warrant held by Grey County OPP for theft related charges.
The 37-year old male was charged with assault with a weapon, fail to comply with probation order (x3), causing a disturbance, and possession of marihuana under 30 grams.
Both are in custody and are to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on April 6, 2016.
