(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Bracebridge detachment has arrested two people after they failed to stop for police.
On March 12, 2014 at 9:00 pm a vehicle had failed to stop for the OPP members of the Parry Sound detachment and the vehicle exited on Go Home Lake Road from Highway 400. The two people in the vehicle then fled on foot. The passenger was arrested by Bracebridge OPP after a short foot pursuit and the male driver ran into the nearby wooded area.
The Bracebridge OPP members, the Emergency Response Team and the K-9 unit searched the area extensively for the male driver. The male was located in a stolen pick-up truck a short distance away and fled from police driving the truck. The 60km pursuit ended in the Barrie area and the male driver was arrested by Bracebridge OPP members.

CC 354(1)(a) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
The passenger is under the age of 18 and has been charged with
CC 430(4) Mischief Under $ 5,000
CC 129(a) Obstruct Peace Officer
