Two 18 Year Olds Caught At RIDE

(CITY OF TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) – Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Festive Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Program on Highway 65 East in Dymond Township on December 18, 2014.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. an eastbound GMC pick-up truck approached the program with open liquor in the vehicle. Further investigation resulted in several charges and the vehicle was towed.

Driver, Eric ARSENEAULT-LEROUX, 18, of Azilda is charged for Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Driving motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act, and Novice Driver – B.A.C. above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Passenger, Brad FURTADO, 18, of Azilda is charged for Possession of Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Both accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on February 10, 2015.
