Trying To Cash Stolen Cheque Results In 23 Charges

(TECUMSEH, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Tecumseh was called to attend a money cashing establishment on Manning Road in Tecumseh on July 6, 2015 at approximately 12:40 p.m.

Officers arrived to find the accused persons had attempted to cash a stolen cheque.

Further investigation revealed that the accused persons were in possession of several items that had previously been stolen throughout Essex County and two of the accused persons had falsely identified themselves.

Three persons were charged with a total of 23 offences as follows:

Kevin POHJOLA, age 46 of Windsor was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 5, Uttering Forged Document and Obtaining by False Pretence.

Cyril MARTELL, age 47 of Lakeshore was charged with Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 5, Personation with Intent, Uttering Forged Document and Obtaining by False Pretence.

Kamilla LENART, age 35 of Windsor was charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 x 5, Uttering Forged Document, Obtaining by False Pretence and Obstruct Peace Officer.

All three accused parties will appear in a Windsor court on August 26, 2015 to answer to the charges.
