(WHITEFISH RIVER FIRST NATION, ON) – On Saturday October 3, 2015 at around 11:00 pm the Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to assist the UCCM Anishnabe Police Service with a disturbance at a residence on Old Village Road in Whitefish River First Nation, Ontario. Police arrived on scene to find a white Hyundai Santa Fe driving away from a residence. The vehicle was stopped by police. It was determined that the driver had consumed alcohol. While searching the driver a quantity of marihuana was seized.
As a result of the officer’s investigation, Trudy TRUDEAU, 47 years of age from Sudbury, Ontario was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Care or Control while ability Impaired – Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
2. Care or Control of Motor Vehicle over 80 mgs of Alcohol, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
3. Possession of Marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Control Drugs and Substance Act.
The accused was released on a Promise to Appear and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday November 30, 2015 in Gore Bay to answer to her charges.
