Truck Vs Truck Collision On Hwy 28 – Both Vehicles Destroyed By Fire

(Otonabee-South Monaghan, ON) – Emergency crews were called to a collision on Highway 28 just south of Division Road yesterday just before 4:00pm.

The collision occurred when a northbound truck drifted into the path of a southbound truck. Both vehicles were destroyed by the resulting fire. All occupants of the vehicles involved with the crash were taken to Peterborough Region Health Centre (PRHC) for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated and charged Michael Douglas GODDARD (age 41) of Selwyn Township with Careless Driving. The accused was also issued a three day drivers licence suspension for having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) between .05mg and .100mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.
