On Tuesday July 1st at approximately 11:00 PM, a black Dodge Ram pickup truck lost control and struck the northeast corner of a house situated at the corner of 4th Avenue West and 21st Street West.
Prior to the crash, witnesses had observed the truck to be doing “burnouts†and driving erratically in the 300 block of 21st Street West before it lost control and struck the house.
The driver of the truck fled the scene prior to emergency services arriving at the scene.
Police arrived to find the truck wedged in between the rear of the house on the North side and a detached garage causing extensive damage to both the house and the vehicle. The homeowners were inside their residence when the crash occurred but were not injured.
The crash is being actively investigated and charges are pending. Anyone with information regarding the collision or the actions leading up to the event is asked to contact the Owen Sound Police Service or Crimestoppers.
