Troy Elroy GORDON – Fail To Move Over

On Monday August 5, 2013 at approximately 3:05 am Northumberland OPP officers were conducting an unrelated traffic stop with emergency lights activated in the eastbound lane of Highway 401 in Cramahe Township when a 2004 Kia Magentis from Quebec failed to move into another lane. The Kia was stopped and the officer detected an odour of marihuana coming from the vehicle.

An investigation conducted by the officers at the scene resulted in Troy Elroy GORDON, age 27, with no fixed address from Quebec being arrested and charged with possession of marihuana under 30 grams under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and obstruct police under the Criminal Code. The accused was held for a bail hearing on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at 1:30 pm.

The male was also issued Provincial Offence Notices for fail to move to another lane for emergency vehicle, fail to surrender driver’s licence and fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act and fail to surrender insurance card under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
