(ONEIDA OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION) – A report of a possible stolen vehicle on Fairgrounds Road resulted in numerous charges against a male driver.
On November 9, 2013 at approximately 6:51 p.m. police responded to a report of a possible stolen vehicle on Fairgrounds Road in Oneida of the Thames First Nation. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) assisted Oneida Police and initiated a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle. Police had reason to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the OPP London Detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, police charged the male driver, Trew IRELAND-CHRISJOHN, age 18 of Oneida of the Thames First Nation with the following:
Impaired operation of a motor vehicle
Over 80
Mischief under $5000
Possession of marihuana, under 30 grams
Take motor vehicle without consent
The male party was released by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in a London Court on December 20, 2013 to speak to the charges.
