Trevor SKOCHINSKI – Drunk Driving, No Taillights & One Headlight

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A young driver is facing multiple charges after he was stopped by police late Saturday night. At approximately 11:40 p.m. on November 8, 2014 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received information that the driver of a Toyota Corolla was driving in an erratic manner as he entered into Exeter. The witness also reported the vehicle was being operated without taillights and only one operating headlamp.

A Huron OPP officer spotted the suspect vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, at the intersection of Andrew Street and Sanders Street. The vehicle was stopped and police spoke with the driver. Upon speaking with the driver officers determined he had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening test was administered and the driver registered a fail. He was arrested and transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for breath tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both samples registered over the legal limit.

A search incident to arrest was completed and it revealed the driver was in possession of marihuana.

As a result, 19 year old Trevor SKOCHINSKI from Exeter has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol, Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Marihuana and Young Driver Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) Above Zero. He has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Exeter on December 18, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
