(Tweed, ON) – On May 6, 2015 at 12:05 p.m. members of Central Hastings O.P.P responded to a motor vehicle collision on Alexander Street in the Municipality of Tweed. A transport truck driver that was unfamiliar with the area followed his GPS instructions which led him to a residential street in the village. As he turned a corner the tractor trailer ran over a fire hydrant.
As a result the driver was charged with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
