(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON)– On Tuesday January 12, 2016, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were contacted by a Trachsel St. property owner in Shakespeare, who reported that a black Chevy pickup truck had been left on his lot. The vehicle may have been there for two days.
Police investigation revealed that this pickup truck had been stolen from Hamilton sometime prior to January 10th and that the plates attached to it were stolen from the Hamilton area.
On Monday January 11, 2016, a resident of Fraser St. in Shakespeare contacted police and reported the theft of a grey 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. The truck had been stolen from the residential driveway around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday January 10, 2016. This pickup truck was locked and no keys were left inside the vehicle.
On Monday January 11, 2016, a Mill St. West Resident in Milverton reported the theft of his white 2006 GMC Sierra pickup with a licence plate of 9573YL. This truck was stolen sometime before 10 a.m. on January 11, 2016. This truck is a diesel pickup truck.
On Tuesday January 12, 2016, around the noon hour the Perth County OPP was contacted by a Milverton resident who advised that a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck had been left on his Mill St. West driveway since Monday morning January 11th. Police confirmed that this truck was the stolen truck from Fraser St. in Shakespeare.
There appears to be a connection between the stolen pickup truck from Hamilton to the stolen pickup in Shakespeare and the stolen pickup truck in Milverton. The person(s) responsible for these thefts may still be in possession of the stolen white 2006 GMC Sierra pickup truck from Milverton. This pickup truck may however have been discarded and another vehicle may have been stolen in its place.
The Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have observed individuals around these stolen vehicles or who has information about vehicle thefts to contact them.
