(RED LAKE, ON) – On Saturday October 24, 2015 members of the Red Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 105 . A white ford pickup was stopped for a minor traffic violation.
Upon speaking to the driver officers could smell the odor of marihuana. Through the investigation a large amount of cocaine and marihuana was located within the vehicle. The driver Cody GALBRAITH (24yrs old) and Matthew ALLARIE (24yrs old) both of Headingley Manitoba have both been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) and Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Under 3 kg, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA. GALBRAITH has also been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to section 129 of the Criminal Code.
$32000 in CDSA and a 2008 F350 was seized as offence related property. Both Parties are held in custody pending Bail Court in Kenora on October 26, 2015.
