Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

(NAPANEE, ON) – An officer with the Napanee detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Napanee this morning at 1:30 a.m. resulting in a seizure of 35 grams of marihuana and a small amount of a drug suspected to be cocaine.

The driver of the vehicle, 30 year-old Hollie JOHNSTON, of Napanee was subsequently charged with driving while suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

A passenger in the vehicle, 21 year-old Courtney HERRINGTON, of Napanee was charged with possession of a controlled substance (marihuana) over 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and failing to comply with an undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code.

HERRINGTON was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Napanee on October 18, 2016.
