(PETAWAWA, ON) – On the afternoon of September 26, 2016 the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop of a Mazda 3 on Portage Road in the Town of Petawawa. The adult female driver and adult male passenger were both found to be in possession of drugs contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA). As a result 56 year old Karen Anne ADAMS of Petawawa was arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Oxycodone, contrary to the CDSA. 73 year old John HARKNESS of Petawawa was also arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Oxycodone, contrary to the CDSA.
Both accused persons were released on a Promise To Appear and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on October 25, 2016.
