Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charges

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On June 17, 2016, at 10:49 p.m., members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the downtown area of Parry Sound. The black vehicle was observed driving around and parking in various locations. Police located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in a driveway on Gibson Street.

As a result of the officer’s investigation, Patrick JONES, 41 years of age from Oakville, was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine as per the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA).

Possession of Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the CDSA.

Traffic in Schedule I substance – Cocaine as per the CDSA.

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to the CC.

Possess more than one licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The passenger, Julian JESSO, 19 years of age from Hamilton, was also arrested and charged with:

Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine as per the CDSA.

Possession of Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the CDSA.

Traffic in Schedule I substance – Cocaine as per the CDSA.

Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).

Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 contrary to the CC.

An occupant of the residence on Gibson Street, Bradey RICHARDS was arrested on a warrant and charged with:

Possession of Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine as per the CDSA.

Possession of Schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams as per the CDSA.

Possession of Schedule I substance – other drugs as per the CDSA.

Traffic in Schedule I substance – Cocaine as per the CDSA.

The accused were held in custody and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound to answer to their charges.
