(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – A 17 year old female is facing a drug possession charge following a traffic stop on July 9, 2014. A few minutes after midnight on July 9, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police officer observed a Buick sedan cross the center line on Bluewater Veterans Highway several times. The officer stopped the driver on Bluewater Veterans Highway at Union Road and upon speaking with the female driver he observed a quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle.
The female driver was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Drug & Substance and a search of the vehicle incident to arrest led to the seizure of a quantity of marihuana.
As a result, a 17 year old female from Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Marihuana contrary to the Controlled Drugs & Substances Act. She has a court appearance scheduled for Youth Court at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on August 11, 2014.
