(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On November 21, 2014, just before 9:00 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Civic for a speed violation, on Highway 401 westbound near Charing Cross Road.
During subsequent OPP traffic investigation, the officer detected a strong odour of what was believed to be marihuana from inside the vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of approximately 115 grams of suspected marihuana.
As a result, the driver, 32 year old Christopher PEGG, from Barrie, has been charged with the following:
Possession of Cannabis Marihuana Over 30 grams, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The driver is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on January 8, 2015, to answer to the charges.
