Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Charge

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 21-year-old male with a drug offence following a traffic stop at an Argyle Street North, Caledonia, Haldimand County, Ontario address.

On Monday September 26, 2016, at approximately 2:48 p.m., OPP were conducting patrols of the area when they stopped a vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act offence.

Police spoke with the male driver when they located a quantity of a controlled substance in the vehicle resulting in the arrest of the male.

OPP has charged 21-year-old William VANWYCK of Grimsby, Ontario with possession of a schedule II substance – Cannabis Marihuana.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga at a later date to answer to the charge.
