TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) issued two stunt driving charges on January 18, 2014.

At approximately 11:20 a.m. an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 153 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 115 within the City of Kawartha Lakes. The 17 year old female driver, from Richmond Hill was charged with stunt driving. Her vehicle was towed from the scene and her driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay on March 11, 2014.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. an OPP officer observed a vehicle travelling at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone in snowy conditions on Highway 35 near Tower Road. The officer subsequently stopped the vehicle.

Charged with stunt driving is Krishanthan THURAIRAJAH, 43 years of age, of Markham. The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 7 days and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on March 11, 2014.
