(SOUTHWEST MIDDLESEX, ON)- On Thursday October 10, 2013 at 1:38 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call from the public of a motor vehicle speeding within the community of Glencoe.
Police located the suspect vehicle on McKellar Street and Lovell Street and soon discovered that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene for impaired driving and transported to the OPP detachment for further tests.
During the course of the investigation police also confirmed that a male passenger of the vehicle was in breach of his court related conditions. The passenger was placed under arrest.
As a result of an investigation police have charged the driver Joshua REGO, age 28 of Brampton, ON with:
Impaired Driving as per Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood – 253(1)(b) CC
Driving while under suspension as per Section 53(1)of the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on November 21, 2013 to speak to the charges.
The passenger Conard FERGUSON, age 18 of Newbury, ON has been charged with three counts of Failing to Comply with Probation Order as per Section 733.1(1) of the CC. The accused was released from police custody by way of a PTA and is scheduled to appear in a London Court room on November 19, 2013 to speak to the charges.
