(SUDBURY, ON) – At approximately 8:32 p.m., on September 23, 2015, members from the Sudbury Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident on Highway 144 at the railway crossing south of Regional Road 8, in the City of Greater Sudbury. A tractor trailer unit loaded with explosives and detonators became detached, with the trailer sliding across the roadway and coming to rest in the southbound lane of Highway 144.
As a result of the investigation conducted by the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), the driver and the tractor trailer company have been charged with several offences.
Roger ROZON, 48 years of age, from Wahnapitae is charged with:

Fail to Maintain Daily Log, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, X2
Fail to Inspect Commercial Motor Vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle with Major Defect, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Drive Commercial Motor Vehicle in Unsafe Condition, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Insecure Load, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Fail to Comply with Federal Regulation Safety Standards – Insecure Load, contrary to the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act
Fail to Comply with Federal Regulation Safety Standards – Misleading Safety Mark, contrary to the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act
The company, Les Services Jag Inc. from Sainte-Croix, Quebec, from Sainte-Croix, Quebec is charged with:
Fail to Ensure Performance Standards are met, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Fail to Comply with Federal Regulation Safety Standards – Misleading Safety Mark, contrary to the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act
Both ROZON and Les Services Jag Inc. will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Sudbury, on November 16, 2015, to answer to their charges.
