(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 7, 2015, just before 2:00 p.m., a complaint of a tractor trailer knocking down a speed limit sign on Highway 401 near Scane Side Road, was reported to the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Officers located the vehicle, which had exited the highway at Victoria Road, and spoke with the driver.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the driver was traveling west on Highway 401 and decided to utilize the emergency u-turn to turn his tractor trailer around and head east on the highway. While doing so, the vehicle knocked down a speed limit sign and then continued on.
As a result, the 37 year old driver, Jasbir SEKHON, from Surrey, British Columbia, has been charged with the following:
· Disobey Sign
· Fail To Report Damage To Property On Highway
· Fail To Surrender CVOR Certificate
