Tractor Trailer Driver Facing Impaired By Drug Charge

(LAMBTON, ON) – On Tuesday September 13th, 2016, the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complaint from a concerned citizen regarding a tractor trailer traveling on 402 Highway, eastbound, Plympton-Wyoming Township.

At just before 10:00 p.m., the Lambton County OPP received a traffic complaint from a concerned motorist regarding a tractor trailer that was driving erratically along 402 Highway, eastbound in the area of Forest Road. OPP were able to locate and stop the tractor trailer on 402 Highway. Investigating officers suspected the driver of the tractor trailer was impaired by drug. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP Petrolia Detachment where the driver was turned over to a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) for testing. The testing determined that the driver was impaired.

As a result, 59 year old Dariusz FIGARSKI of Caledon, ON was charged with

Drive While Ability Impaired

The accused will appear in the Sarnia Ontario Court of Justice on Monday October 17th, 2016.

The OPP is again reminding drivers that any amount of alcohol or other drugs can impair one’s ability to drive. Impaired driving remains the leading cause of criminal death in Canada.
