(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Monday, January 26, 2015 at approximately 6:57 pm, officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a tractor trailer unit on Highway 102 west of Hill Road.
The tractor trailer unit was east bound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, entered the ditch, struck a hydro pole and came to rest upright in Strawberry Creek.
The driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
A short time later at approximately 7:36 pm, an east bound tractor trailer unit lost control and jackknifed on Highway 102 on the Kaministiquia River Bridge blocking both lanes of traffic.
The driver was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries.
Highway 102 was closed for approximately 4.5 hours while officers investigated and removed the tractor trailer from the highway.
