Tow Truck Impounded After Driver Caught Going 136 in an 80

(Mono, ON) – On Wednesday December 23rd, 2015 at 1:50 pm Dufferin OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Airport Road south of 30th Side road in Town of Mono.

Police observed a southbound 2016 Freightliner flat-bed tow truck with vehicle on flat bed towing another behind it traveling at a high rate of speed. The officer activated his radar and clocked the tow truck at 136 km per hour in a posted 80 km per hour zone.

A traffic stop was initiated and tow truck was pulled over. The 65 year old male driver, from Toronto, had his driver’s license and tow truck impounded for 7 days.

The accused will appear in Orangeville court at a later date to answer to the charge.
