Tina TURCOTTE – Dangerous Driving, Assault

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Wednesday February 19, 2014, around 9 a.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a traffic occurrence at the intersection of Perth Road 130 and Perth Line 32 (South of Sebringville).

Investigation revealed that a west bound Kia sedan travelling on Perth Line 32 had been observed swerving in its lane. A passenger was seen exiting the Kia while it was still moving. The vehicle continued driving, leaving the passenger behind. The male passenger sustained minor injuries due to his fall onto the roadway. He was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel but was not transported to hospital.

It was determined that just before the incident the driver of the Kia had given a ride to the passenger. The driver started to operate the vehicle in a dangerous manner and assaulted the passenger. The passenger being concerned for his safety exited the car as it slowed at the intersection of Perth Road 130.

Shortly after the incident, officers located and arrested the driver of the Kia in the Town of Mitchell. Tina TURCOTTE (39) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with “dangerous operation of a motor vehicle”, and “assault”. She is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on March 03, 2014 to answer to the charges.
