(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) -On July 20, 2014 at approximately 10:57 a.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer from the Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was monitoring speeds on Highway 6 near Laird Road, Guelph. A 2009 Mitsubishi was observed by police travelling northbound well above the posted speed limit of 80 km/h.
The officer locked the male driver on radar at 138 km/h.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Timothy CAMPANALE age 19 of Ottawa is charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Court on Aug. 20, 2014 to answer to the charge.
