TIME TO PAY OUR RESPECTS AND REMEMBER

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, to all of the veterans that served our Country. We also want to commemorate the achievements and the sacrifices made by all those who served or currently serving Canada.

We live in a wonderful country, full of opportunities and freedoms that we often take for granted. You can be sure that Canadian Veterans do not take our situation for granted. Young men and women sacrificed everything they knew, including the comforts, love and safety of home in order to defend the rights and freedoms of others. Veterans know the price paid for our freedom and they want all Canadians to share in this understanding.

Now more than ever, they are passing the torch of remembrance to us, and all of the people of Canada to ensure that the memory of their efforts and sacrifices and the values they fought for will live on in all Canadians.

Even though many of us may not possess the actual memories, we owe it to those who have served to learn, to understand, and to appreciate the task they have undertaken. Generations of Canadian Veterans, through their courage, determination and sacrifice have helped to ensure that we live in a free and peaceful country.

“We owe every Veteran and current serving member a thank you. Without their sacrifice, commitment, courage and determination we would not be living in a free and peaceful Country. This sacrifice has ensured our safety in which we live. How can we not pause and say thank you” in remembrance of their great sacrifice
