Throwing Beer Can Out Vehicle Window Leads To Suspension

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 28-year-old driver from South Huron was issued a 3-day driver’s licence suspension following a traffic stop that took place over the lunch hour on June 8, 2017.

Just after 12:30 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling eastbound on Rodgerville Road when he noticed a passenger of a motor vehicle throw a beer can out the car window onto the gravel road.

The officer initiated a traffic stop and spoke with the occupants of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver the officer detected the odour of alcohol coming from the driver. Upon further questioning the driver admitted to consuming beer over his lunch break. As a result the officer administered a roadside screening test and the driver registered a Warn”. The driver was served with a 3-day driver’s licence suspension and was ticketed for Driving a Motor Vehicle with an Open Container of Liquor.

Additionally
