(TILLSONBURG, ON) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to investigate a break and enter a property on Maple Lane in Tillsonburg, which is the former Maple Lane Public School.
Police were notified at 6:25 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 by the alarm company and arrived in the area shortly after the call was received. Tillsonburg Fire Department also attended as a fire alarm was registering inside the building as well.
Investigation revealed that the suspects entered the building through a boarded up south west window. Once inside the suspects set off one of the buildings fire extinguishers. No other damage was reported and nothing was taken.
Through investigation three male youths from Tillsonburg were all identified and spoken to about their involvement in the incident. Two of the youths were 15-years-old and the third youth was 14-years-old. All three youths will be entered into Extra Judicial Measures under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) in relation to the Break, Enter and Mischief. The names of the youths are being withheld as per guidelines of the YCJA.
