Three Suspects Arrested – Multiple charges laid by Street Response Team

(HAMILTON TWP, ON) –On September 28, 2016 the Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an investigation relating to the theft of items from a vehicle parked at the Baltimore Community Centre and the subsequent use of a stolen credit card.

Excerpt from ‘Weekly News Brief’ dated September 30, 2016:

Sept 28:

– A visitor at the Baltimore arena reported the theft of his wallet and iPhone from his unlocked car at 9:00pm.

As a result of the ensuing investigation led by the Northumberland OPP Street Response Team (SRT), the following persons were arrested and charged on October 26, 2016.

Ashley HEAD age 22 of Cobourg, Ontario is charged with:

Theft Under $5,000

Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000 (two counts)

Use (stolen) Credit Card (13 counts)

Mark HENDRY age 38 of Cobourg, Ontario is charged with:

Theft Under $5,000

Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000 (two counts)

Use (stolen) Credit Card (nine counts)

Both accused were held for a bail hearing scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 27, 2016. HEAD was subsequently released with a court date of December 7, 2016 and HENDRY with a court date of November 9, 2016.

Matthew RACIUNAS age 33 of Hamilton Twp, Ontario is charged with:

Theft Under $5,000

Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5,000

Use (stolen) Credit Card (six counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on November 23, 2016.
