THREE PEOPLE CHARGED AND ONE MALE WANTED IN RELATION TO A STRING OF BREAK AND ENTERS ACROSS THE QUINTE REGION

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Friday October 3rd, 2014, the Quinte West OPP Street Crime Unit, with the assistance of Northumberland and Central Hastings OPP Street Crimes Units, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the east end of Belleville.

As a result of the search warrant, a significant amount of stolen property was recovered by Police. The property included jewelry, power tools, and other house hold electronics. The stolen property is associated to a string of break in enters (14 in total) that were reported and investigated over the past month in Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Central Hastings, Belleville, and Northumberland County.

Robyn WELCH, 29, and Sean HARVEY, 34, both of Belleville were arrested at the scene of the warrant execution. They have each been charged with 14 counts of break and enter, and 1 count of possession of a schedule II substance.

HARVEY was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Thursday October 9th, 2014. WELCH was released on a Promise to Appear with a first appearance date of November 20th, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

On Tuesday October 7th, 2014, Quinte West OPP Street Crime Unit made their third arrest at an east end home in Belleville. 34 year old Richard JOHNSTON of Belleville has been charged with three counts of Break and Enter. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of November 20th, 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

A fourth person remains wanted in connection to these crimes. On Wednesday October 8th, 2014, an arrest warrnt was issued for 30 year old Kenneth FELKER of Belleville for 11 counts of Break and Enter.
