(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is continuing to investigate a motor vehicle collision that occurred on Lake St. in the City of Pembroke. The collision was reported at approximately 9:12pm on the 11th of January 2015. Three pedestrians were struck by a westbound vehicle on Lake St. Two of the pedestrians were treated and released from hospital. Ernest Hall, 57, of Petawawa died later in hospital
As a result of the investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Martial LAVERDURE, age 38 of Pembroke, is charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Death, contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke on March 3, 2015.
