Three Pedestrians Run Down Intentionally – 21 Year Old Charged

(BRIGHTON, ON) – On September 27, 2015 at 12:57am police responded to a report of a car hitting several pedestrians in the area of Elizabeth Street. When officers arrived they located three injured victims. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were at scene and one of the three males was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The other two pedestrians were treated at the scene with minor injuries.

Witnesses advised police that several people were walking home after the Applefest Dance when an argument broke out between the driver of a Saturn station wagon and another man. The driver reversed out of a parking spot in front of a variety store then drove forward striking the man causing him to be thrown against the store front. The car then left the scene returning shortly afterwards striking two other men who were walking in the area.

The driver fled the scene and was subsequently arrested at the Quinte West OPP detachment where he turned himself in to police.

Nathan ARSENAULT age 21 of Trenton, Ontario is charged with the following offences:

– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle

– Fail to Stop at the scene of an accident

– Assault with a Weapon (three counts)

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brighton on November 3, 2015.
