Three Impaired Drivers Charged

(KENORA, ON) – Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three people with impaired driving related offences in separate occurrences over the weekend.

On Thursday July 2, 2015 around 11:00 pm members of the Kenora OPP were conducting marine patrol in Safety Bay on Lake of the Woods in the City of Kenora. Police observed a vessel with an equipment infraction southbound towards Cameron Narrows. Officers conducted a vessel stop near Gun Club Island and determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside test was conducted and the male registered a Fail. Police transported the male for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, 22 year old Stuart FOGG of Winnipeg has been charged with Operating a Vessel with Over .80 mg of Alcohol in his Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Kenora Court on August 13, 2015 to answer to the charge.

On Friday July 3, 2015 around 10:30 pm members of the Kenora OPP were on patrol in the south end of Kenora when they observed a male driver operating a golf cart on the roadway. Police stopped the golf cart and determined the male driver had been consuming alcohol and he registered a Fail on the roadside test. He was transported for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, 51 year old David LAMPSHIRE of Kenora has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over .80 mg of Alcohol in his Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) CC. He is to appear in Kenora Court on July 23, 2015 to answer to the charge. His male passenger was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for Having Alcohol in Other than Licensed Premise contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.

On Saturday, July 4, 2015 around 7:45 pm Kenora OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver at a hotel s on Highway 17 east in Kenora. The driver had left the vehicle and was in the hotel. Police attended and located the female identified as the driver of the vehicle. She was arrested for impaired driving and transported for further tests.

As a result of this investigation 32 year old Viola PETAWANAQUEB of Winnipeg has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 253(1)(a) CC and Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample section 254(5) CC. She is to appear in Kenora Court on August 13, 2015 to answer to the charges.
