Three Home When Arsonist Strikes

(ORILLIA, ON) – The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the arson on Franklin Street in the City of Orillia.

Police received the call from the Orillia Fire Department at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday April 18, 2017.

There were three (3) occupants in the house at the time of the fire. All three are adults and reside at the residence.

One man received injuries and was transported to hospital. His injuries were deemed non-life threatening.

A second occupant was not injured.

The third man was arrested at the scene and was held in custody pending a Bail Hearing on April 19, 2017.

Police have charged 20 year old Adam LAWRENCE with Arson – Cause Bodily Harm contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, section 433 (b). He remains in custody with a future court date of April 21, 2017.

The Office of the Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
