(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Thursday April 28th, 2016, at approximately 2:00 am Quinte West OPP responded to an assault call at a residence on Old Wooler Road in the City of Quinte West.
The officer investigation revealed that three men had arrived at that address in a vehicle and unlawfully entered the residence. The three men assaulted another man who was inside the residence. The male victim ran out of the house and locked himself in his vehicle that was parked in the driveway. Two of the suspects continued to try and get at the victim and did significant damage to the victim’s vehicle.
A female who resided at the Old Wooler Road residence tried to intervene in the assault and she was assaulted by one of the male suspect’s as well. The male and female victim sustained minor injuries. The male victim was treated in hospital.
Two of the suspects were still on scene when Police arrived. A 27 year old man from Quinte West and a 39 year old man from Trenton were arrested by Police at the scene. The third suspect, a 23 year old man from Brighton, fled the scene prior to Police arrival. He turned himself in to Police later that day.

Each of the accused men were released on a Promise to Appear and Officer in Charge Undertaking. They are to appear in court on May 9th, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
