Three Charged After Cottage Break In

(CENTRAL HASTINGS, ON) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three individuals after stopping a late night vehicle stop turned up stolen property.

On Tuesday April 28 OPP officers stopped a Jeep towing a trailer full of property at approx. 10pm on Sterling-Marmora Road South of Madoc. Officers later discovered a nearby property had been broken into and the property located with the Jeep had been stolen from that property in Marmora and Lake Township. Police later searched a home on River Valley Road in Quite West with the authority of a search warrant and recovered more stolen property and charged one female.

Edward TURCOTTE 43 of Quite West and Garry DELINE 42 of Belleville have been charged with:

• Break and enter

• Possession of break in tools

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

They were held in custody for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody.

Tammy CARMAN 40 of Quinte West was charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. She was released on a promise to appear in court in Belleville on June 4, 2015.

The investigation is continuing. To date more than $20,000 worth of stolen property has been recovered. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Quinte West OPP Property Crimes Unit at 613-392-3561.
