Three Arrested In Scrap Metal Thefts

(ADELAIDE METCALFE, ON) – On August 25, 2015, the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of thefts of metal from a commercial property in the 28,000 block of Centre Road.

Culprits attended the property three times in the early morning hours of August 25, 2015. Once on the property, they trespassed, and various amounts of scrap metal were stolen.

On the afternoon of August 27, 2015, an alert citizen notified the Middlesex County OPP of a suspect vehicle, a tan GMC sports utility vehicle (SUV), on Centre Road, in Adelaide Metcalfe, Ontario.

As a result of the subsequent investigation assisted by the Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit, three males have been arrested and charged in the thefts.

18-year-old Mackenzie MOORE, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, and 20-year-old James MOYER, from Adelaide Metcalfe, Ontario, were each charged with theft under $5000 X3, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. 20-year-old Kyle MOORE, from Middlesex Centre, Ontario, was charged with theft under $5000 X3, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused males were released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and are scheduled to answer to the charges in a London court on October 8, 2015.
