Three Arrested For Luring Children For Sex – Names Released

(Peterborough, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit have arrested and charged three Kawartha area men following three separate on-line internet luring investigations over a five week period.

Members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit were acting in a covert capacity on the internet. Three separate individuals were identified and communicated with undercover officers posing as children on social networking websites. The males communicated to the officers for the purposes of having sex. Two of the three men made arrangements to meet what they believed were children. When the two men arrived at pre-arranged public locations, police officers were waiting for them. The two men were subsequently arrested and charged.

On the third investigation, members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit, OPP Technological Crime Unit and Kawartha Lakes OPP Detachment executed a search warrant at a City of Kawartha Lakes residence on June 22, 2016. As a result of this search warrant, one cellular telephone and one laptop computer was seized. The suspect, Richard GORDON, was arrested at the home and charged.

Charged Persons:

1: Steven STOKES, age 54 years old from Lindsay, Ontario.

One count of Transmitting Sexually Explicit Material to a Child

Steven STOKES was released on bail with conditions. He is scheduled to appear on July 14, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, Ontario.

2: Andre LOGAN, age 42 years old from Peterborough, Ontario.

Two counts of Luring a Child on the Internet.

Andre LOGAN was released on bail with conditions. He is scheduled to appear on July 13, 2016 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough Ontario.

3: Richard GORDON, age 45 years old from the City of Kawartha Lakes, Ontario.

Three counts of Luring a Child on the Internet

One count of Transmitting Sexually Explicit Material to a Child

Richard GORDON was released on bail with conditions. He is scheduled to appear on July 14, 2016, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, Ontario.

The investigation is continuing.
