THREE ARRESTED AS RESULT OF SEARCH WARRANT

(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – On Wednesday October 15, members of the OPP Central East Drug Unit conducted a Criminal Code Search Warrant at a residence located on Plains Circle.

The OPP concluded an investigation of illegal drug trafficking connected to a private residence located in Cavan Monaghan Township. Officers obtained and executed a Search Warrant that resulted in three adults being charged with a variety of offences as well as the recovery of several illegal weapons, illegal drugs and criminal assets.

OPP have recovered over 40 lbs of Marijuana, a quantity of cash, a 25 calibre handgun and two pair of brass knuckles.

As a result of the investigation the following charges have been laid.:

1. 63 year old, James CRAWFORD of Cavan Monaghan has been charged with Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking

2. 56 year old Sherry CRAWFORD of Cavan Monaghan has been charged with Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of Trafficking

3. 24 year old James Erbin CRAWFORD of Cavan Monaghan has been charged with :

Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of Trafficking x2

Possession of a Controlled Substance Under 3 grams

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Knowledge of an Unauthorized Firearm

Unsafe Storage of a Firearm

Possession of a Firearm with an altered Serial number

Possession of a Prohibited Weapon X2

James Erbin CRAWFORD was held for a bail hearing scheduled to be held in Peterborough Provincial Courts on 16 October 2014.

The other two accused were released with a future court date in November 2014.
