Three 17 Year Olds Charged With Break And Enter

(ESSA, ON)- On June 6th, 2015 at 8:20 pm, the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received an active break and enter call from an address on the 11th Line of Essa Township. A witness to the offence called the Police immediately.

Officers attended the residence and observed extensive damage to the residence. Officers approached the males and advised them that they were investigating a break and enter in the area.

It was determined that a second residence on the 11th Line had also been entered by these youths.

Nottawasaga OPP arrested three youth and charged them with the following criminal charges:

17 year old Midhurst, Ontario male charged with Break and enter, Mischief over $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

17 year old Spring water, Ontario male charged with Break and enter, Mischief over $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and,

17 year old Cookstown, Ontario male charged with Break and enter, Mischief over $5000, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Theft over $5000 and Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Marihuana.

All three males were released with a court date of 14 July at 9:00am at the Ontario Court of Justice in Barrie, ON.

The vehicle that the youths had left at the residence of the Break and Enter was one that had been stolen out of the Barrie area. The Volvo station wagon was towed to Nottawasaga Detachment for Forensic examination by OPP Forensic Identification Unit.

No names will be released under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
